About the Project
CommonGround is a regional initiative in India that brings together civil society, governments, market actors, and technology communities to address systemic barriers — from exclusion and ecological degradation to fractured and siloed systems of environmental governance and rural livelihoods.
Through this relationship, EcoAg strengthened collaboration with partners in India and supported learning across initiatives. EcoAg exchanged insights, contributed reflections from 1000L, supported capacity-strengthening efforts, and provided feedback on materials developed by Living Landscapes that adapt and build on 1000L resources.
EcoAg also co-developed a case study documenting the landscape initiative in Jalisco, Mexico. The case study became a valuable learning tool for the landscape movement and was launched through a webinar co-hosted by Rainforest Alliance, EcoAg, and 1000L in December 2025.
OUTPUTS: Capacity-strengthening support, learning exchange across initiatives, feedback on adapted 1000L materials, planned online training, and a co-developed Jalisco, Mexico, landscape case study used as a learning tool for the broader landscape movement
Impact
CommonGround helped demonstrate how global landscape learning can be adapted to regional realities.
By connecting lessons from 1000L and other projects with community-led landscape work in India, the collaboration supported a growing regional movement for collaborative governance, local leadership, and landscape-scale action. EcoAg’s role helped strengthen the bridge between global experience and regional practice, showing how tools, case studies, and peer learning can travel across contexts while remaining grounded in local leadership.
