Out of the original 1904 applications for the $100 million grant, we made it through to the last cut before they selected the eight semi-finalists.
Our proposal, Revitalizing Global Soils, still has the potential to be a game changer for hunger and climate change. We seek to massively scale up a broad suite of techniques proven to heal and restore agricultural and grassland soils through community-driven initiatives in China, Kenya, the United States and Argentina. Our proposal survived two rounds of vetting from MacArthur’s “panel of wise heads:” validation that our solution is feasible, meaningful and long-lasting.
