Shannon Sutherland is the Communications Associate for EcoAgriculture Partners and the 1000 Landscapes for 1 Billion People initiative. In this role, she supports growing the EcoAgriculture Partners and 1000L brands through written, digital and visual storytelling. She is responsible for developing and executing the two organizations’ social media strategy, creating blog and newsletter content, and expanding their digital reach. She also provides in-house design support for social media, print and digital publications.
Shannon lives in Cabo Verde, West Africa, where she co-founded and led communications for a local wildlife conservation organization prior to joining EcoAg. Before moving abroad, she found her niche in nonprofit communications working for Washington DC-based organizations Rare, the Pinchot Institute for Conservation and the Living Classrooms Foundation.
Shannon has a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from Mount Holyoke College and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in conservation leadership from the University of Guelph. When not working or studying, you can find her training for her next swimming or running race, practicing her Portuguese or exploring the outdoors.
