Juan Ramos provides cross-cutting programmatic and communications support for EcoAgriculture Partners. His primary focus is landscape finance, landscape governance, and capacity development to support local landscape partnerships. Juan also supports the organization’s communications, outreach, and fundraising efforts by developing and supporting integrated landscape management events, workshops, blogs, publications, and conferences.

He works closely with the 1000 Landscapes for 1 Billion People initiative. As a part of the 1000L Finance Solutions Design Team, he helps develop tools, mechanism designs, partnership outreach, event coordination, and applied research. A key area of his work is helping to create the Landscape Investment and Finance Tool (LIFT), which will allow a wider audience of landscape partnerships to coordinate effective resource mobilization throughout the capital continuum. Juan also supports collaborative activities with landscape partnerships, with an emphasis on Latin America.

Juan previously worked on resource mobilization, partnerships, and sustainable finance engagements at the World Wildlife Fund, the Inter-American Development Bank Group, and the South Pole. He holds an economics degree from the University of Calgary and a graduate diploma in sustainable finance from the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI)-Universidad Finis Terrae.

Now back home in Guatemala after several years abroad, Juan dedicates his time to local regenerative projects, developing small-scale agroforestry, and drinking locally grown coffee.
